Ski 2 Freedom

Ski 2 Freedom Foundation is a small independent and international non-profit organisation, with a charitable purpose, founded in 2007 by Director Catherine Cosby whose daughter –now 26 – suffers from a rare neurological disorder, Rett Syndrome and is profoundly physically and mentally disabled.

Ski 2 Freedom was created to help promote access and participation for skiing and snow-sport activities in the mountains to children and adults who have a disability, special need, life challenging illness or medical condition and for those whose lives are directly or indirectly affected by such conditions who live in the UK, Europe or Worldwide.

The organisation provides a comprehensive resource of information on snow-sport and mountain activities tailored to meet the specific needs and requirements of people with a disability or special need so that they, their carers, medical supervisors, family or friends can have an independent choice of location and activity. Once a ski school or resort is identified the Foundation is able to sign-post individuals and groups towards the organisations which will help bring together all the components required for someone to experience the ultimate joy of being in the mountains in winter.
