P&O Cruises
Adonia is considerably smaller than the larger ships of today. Exclusively for adults and carrying just 710 passengers, the ship will be able to reach off the beaten track ports of call, yet is big enough to provide an extensive range of on board facilities. Visit www.pocruises.co.uk
Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines' Birthday celebrations
2012 sees Fred. Olsen celebrating its 65th birthday. As a special celebration the cruise line is launching a celebratory package for anyone who will be cruising on board one of its four cruise ships on their 65th birthday in 2012.
This special package comprises: £50 onboard spending credit; a reprint newspaper from their date of birth (where available); a special celebration breakfast for two and complimentary pre-dinner cocktails for two. In addition, all participants will be entered into a prize draw, with a chance to win 65 days’ worth of free cruising.
Caribbean winter fly-cruises
Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines’ 927-guest cruise ship, Braemar, will operate cruises exclusively from UK ports, following the conclusion of her winter 2011/12 Caribbean fly-cruise season. The cruise ship has operated a winter fly-cruise programme, based in Barbados, since she joined the Fred. Olsen fleet in 2001.
Fred. Olsen’s decision to withdraw from the Caribbean fly-cruise programme has been forced by the escalating costs of air travel, together with the high cost of Air Passenger Duty (APD), which is a major – and increasingly concerning – factor.
The end of the fly-cruise programme, however, will not mean an end to Caribbean cruising with Fred. Olsen. The cruise line has always operated ex-UK cruises to the Caribbean, as well as other longer cruises, to the ‘New World’, Africa, and ‘Around the World’, so the choice of destination areas visited will not be reduced.
